Late to the party on this one..

Kobi,

Wow. This was beautiful. Your mind is beyond me sometimes. You’re so creative and you have such a fascinating way of putting words together...

And the fact that English isn’t even your first language makes it even more impressive. I can only imagine how beautifully you articulate yourself in your native tongue.

Granted I have been speaking English since I was about 6 years old thanks to the teenage mutant ninja turtles, Flemish still comes more naturally indeed, but almost nobody understands it :p thanks for showing up once more and for being generally kick-ass through out A.!!

Anytime Kobi, also Teenage mutant Ninja turned also was huge for me as a kid. My mom worked at a drive in movie theater and would let me and my older sister’s chill in the car and watch TMNT movie a couple times while she was on her shift.

Good times!

I was side tracked about TMNT. Lol but Flemish is your native language. I will look into that. Never heard of it. Lol Now I'm curious of the things you say in Flemish.

This one will be as spokenword over one of my new songs for the new album;

doorheen zeeën van tijd vaarde ik me een baan

baande ik me een weg, heel langzaam aan

en blijf dan staan

verloren gelopen in doolhoven van stroop

als je tijd afkookt

ontstaat een dikke materie

zoete melancholie

kostbare olie

stropers komen van heinde en ver

bosontruiming

noemen ze dat wel eens

want voorwaarts ga ik,

soms door muren van steen

vergetend welke richting

vergetend waarheen

bestemming ondergesteld

aan vooruit gaan, doelloos

maar niet zonder reden

uitzichtloos, maar niet zonder heden

want voorwaarts ga ik

en af en toe,

blijf ik eens staan

I actually had to look up what this meant... And once again. Beautiful.

I really love this style of writing. It’s so different from the way a lot of American writing feels... we tend to say exactly what we mean and get straight to the point.

This makes you sit with it for a minute. It doesn’t hand you the meaning... you have to find it yourself.

I love that. I think I want to challenge myself to try writing this way more often.

Beautiful piece, Kobi. The finale’s return to nature tied everything perfectly together!
